Standard cleaning is included in your hire price! Just package it back up in your pre-paid return satchel and relax, we'll take care of that.
To avoid any accidental damage, please don't attempt to clean the outfit yourself. If you have any concerns about a stain or mark, just let us know, and we'll be happy to advise you of the next steps.
For excessive stains or odors requiring specialised cleaning, a cleaning fee may apply (depending on severity). This includes things like red wine, makeup, grass stains, and strong odors like smoke.
We know accidents happen! Don't worry, just let us know as soon as possible if something spills on the outfit (especially bad stains).The sooner we know, the easier it is to work together and prevent permanent damage.
Please avoid self-cleaning the outfit. Incorrect cleaning can actually worsen the stain and lead to higher fees, or even require a full replacement at the garment's RRP.
Here's what happens with damaged garments:
Repair Costs: You'll be responsible for any repair costs associated with returned outfits that are excessively marked or damaged.
Re-rentability: Hire By J will decide if the garment can be rented again.
Unrentable: If the damage is too severe, you'll be charged the full RRP of the garment, plus any lost income from cancelled future rentals.
Rentable: If the damage affects future rentals but is still repairable, you may be charged a portion of the RRP on top of repair costs.

Can I try outfits on before booking?Absolutely! You are welcome to try on outfits on before placing your order at our boutique located in Caringbah, Sydney, NSW.
TRY ONS ARE BY
Do you offer postal try ons? Unfortunately due to the high turn over nature of a hire business, we are not able to offer postal try ons due to postage timeframes between customers.
All orders are subject to a refundable $40 flat rate bond. Upon processing your order, you will be contacted with a second email that includes a button and link to pay for your bond.
Please note: Failure to pay your bond within 24 hours of order processing will result in the cancellation and refund of your order.
How to Get Your Bond Back (It's Easy!)
Return on Time: Drop off the outfit at the post office the next business day after your event (preferred), alternatively place the item in a YELLOW express post box by the end of the day. (Please DO NOT place in a RED post box if a yellow one is not available)
Good Condition: Return the outfit unwashed and free of damage or excessive stains/odors.
Once we recieve your dress back and it meets all our condition requirements, your bond is refunded within 72 business hours of receiving the undamaged outfit.
Pricing
We apply a flat shipping rate of $28.99 for all orders within Australia. All items are shipped via express post and include a prepaid return satchel for convenient garment returns.
Delivery
Weekend rentals typically ship express via Australia Post on Monday or Tuesday (depending on prior rental return). We ship from Sydney (postcode 2229).
Metro areas: 1-2 business days
Rural: 2-3 business days (estimates may vary).
Check the Australia Post website for specific time frames to your area here (it's your responsibility). Delays can happen due to weather, holidays, etc. We're not responsible for carrier delays.
Late Arrivals
If Australia Post delays your outfit, we'll refund the rental fee (provided you return it undamaged and unworn the next business day). Delays due to missing bond/ID won't qualify for refunds. We recommend using an address where someone can receive the package.
Returns
Return the outfit by 3pm the next business day after your event at a post office or YELLOW Express Post Box Only (DO NOT return via a RED post box) to avoid losing your bond. Failure to return your dress by the final day of your hire period will result in full loss of bond.
Please use the returns satchel with tracked returns label included within your order package. Please be advised that all pre-paid return satchels include activated tracking notifications. If your garment is not scanned into the Australia Post system on the expected return day, there is a risk of losing your $40 bond. It is crucial to return the garments promptly as they may be reserved for the following weekend.
No refunds are offered for change of mind, sickness, event cancellations, or incorrect sizing. We understand things can change! Here's what happens with cancellations:
96+ Hours Notice: Receive a 70% credit towards a future rental.
Less Than 96 Hours Notice: Unfortunately, the full rental fee is non-refundable. You will be provided with a 30% credit note that can be used towards a future rental.
By accessing and utilizing our website, engaging in our services, or renting dresses from Hire By J, you expressly acknowledge and agree to comply with the terms and conditions outlined herein. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you, the user, and Hire By J. It is imperative that you carefully review and understand these terms before proceeding. Your use of our website, services, or the act of renting dresses signifies your explicit consent to adhere to and be bound by the stipulations set forth in this User Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, we kindly ask that you refrain from using our website, services, or renting dresses.
In these terms and conditions, references to 'we,' 'us,' or ‘Hire By J’ refer to Hire By J, operating under the Australian Business Number (ABN) 35 123 937 817.
LIABILITIES
Client Responsibilities:
1.1 Garment Care:Clients are responsible for the proper care of rented garments. This includes avoiding activities that may cause damage, such as contact with liquids, excessive wear, or any other actions that could compromise the integrity of the garment.
1.2 Accurate Sizing:
Clients are responsible for providing accurate sizing information at the time of booking to ensure the proper fit of the rented garment.
1.3 Timely Returns:
Clients must return rented garments by the specified date. Late returns may result in late fees as outlined in the terms and conditions.
1.4 Identification:
Clients are required to present valid identification, such as a photo card or driver's license, when securing an item.
2. Hire By J Responsibilities:
2.1 Garment Quality:
We are committed to providing garments of high quality and cleanliness. Each item is thoroughly inspected and professionally cleaned before being made available for hire.
2.2 Accurate Descriptions:
We strive to provide accurate and detailed descriptions of our garments. In the event of any discrepancies, we will work with clients to resolve the issue in a fair and transparent manner.
2.3 Order Fulfillment:
We will make all reasonable efforts to fulfill dress hire orders, ensuring that the selected garment is available and delivered as per the agreed-upon terms.
3. Liability Limitations:
3.1 General Wear and Tear:Clients will not be held responsible for normal wear and tear associated with proper use of the garment.
3.2 Force Majeure:Hire By J is not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, and unforeseen events.
4. Reporting Issues:
4.1 Damage or Issues:Clients must promptly report any damage or issues with the rented garment upon receipt. Failure to do so may result in the assumption that the garment was received in satisfactory condition.

FAQs
Experience trying on our designer garments in-store or conveniently book online. Visit the 'Book a try-on' tab on our website to schedule your appointment. If online booking isn't suitable, you can proceed to book directly through our website.To check availability, click on our calendar. We offer rental periods of 4 days or 8 days.
For a seamless delivery, we recommend starting your booking 2 business days prior to your event. For regional areas, we advise an 8-day booking due to potential longer postage times. Please refer to Australia Post's delivery times based on your location here.
Once you confirm the style, size, and delivery date, click "Reserve Now" and proceed to checkout to finalise your order. We offer express post delivery on all orders.
At the end of your rental period, simply return your dress in the provided pre-paid satchel. Drop it off behind the counter at your nearest Post Office by 12pm AEST on the return due date.
Head to BOOK A TRY ON to select an appointment time. Please let us know in the booking comments what dresses/sets you were wanting to try on and we'll notify you via text message if any requested items are unavailable for your try-on.
Each try on appointment is allocated a duration of 30 minutes.
Yes, you are welcome to bring someone along as our fitting room can comfortably accommodate more than one person.
Certainly. Once your item(s) have been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number and the estimated delivery date. If you have not received a tracking number, please don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance with your order.

Our try-on availability fluctuates weekly due to work commitments. If you have difficulty finding a suitable time, feel free to text me at +61451 133 489, and we can explore alternative options.
Yes, you must pay a bond in order to hire through us. The bond is a $40 flat rate that will be refunded to you upon safe return of the dress. After placing your order, keep an eye out on your emails for a secondary email that will include a link to pay your bond. Failure to pay the bond will mean your dress will not be sent and the order will be refunded/cancelled.
If your dress is creased from being folded during postage, we recommend gently steaming the garment. Hang it in a bathroom while running a hot shower to allow the steam to naturally release wrinkles. Please DO NOT iron the dress, as the material may be susceptible to burn marks.
POSTAGE

STORE PICKUP
For store pickup returns we will contact you via text message to schedule a return time, as we may not be available at the shop on Sundays or Mondays due to full-time work commitments.
If your return is late and has not been approved by Hire By J, a deduction of your $40 bond will be applied.
Please DO NOT wash the item. The cost of cleaning is already incorporated into the hire price.
In the event of a rip in the item, the item will be repaired using the bond already paid. However, if the item incurs substantial staining, and marks persist after cleaning, an extra cleaning cost will be applicable. If the item is damaged to the extent of being irreparable, the full Recommended Retail Price (RRP) must be paid.
